    The guy is a little incorrect on the stations. Some places West of the Mighty Mississippi still have call letters that start with W.

    Matt Groening grew up in that area and while he has never come out and said where the Simpsons Springfield is, he has always given a little wink as to that being the place it is based on. I'm surprised they are making this video now because it has been a poorly kept secret for a very long time.

      Matt Groening grew up in Portland. Springfield is next door to Eugene, a two-hour drive south of Portland. And there's no nuclear power plant.

        But there was one in Rainier. It was only about 30 miles north of Portland.
