I have a friend from the Washington, CT area who has seen Conan O'Brian around town a couple of times. According to her, he's pretty laid back and funny with the townies.

I used to work in an indie music store in Louisville Ky.so I met a few bands that were pretty cool. My Morning Jacket are around all the time since they still live here.
I helped Rob Zombie pick out some horror DVDs for the tour bus, the Foo Fighters were very cool and nice, and in an odd bit of job crossover Cameron Crowe and Nancy Wilson were doing an instore signing to promote the premiere of his new Elizabethtown film. Orlando Bloom came by at the same time doing a taping for the Oprah show.
Now I had worked as a production assistant on Elizabethtown for a few days so it was cool to have them recognize me when they came in.
As luck would have it, at the time my 2nd job was at a movie theater where Orlando and Kate Bosworth would come to see movies while in town. Kirsten Dunst came by a few times too.
All of them were very nice and easy to work with. Orlando was very polite and was definitly happy to greet his fans. Especially when in town for the Oprah bit. He came in to promote the Elizabethtown premiere too, but he had come in straight from shooting Pirates of the Caribbean 2. Seems that he wraped for the night there at about 6am then, I think, flew to LA and from there to Louisville (here). Then right on to the premiere. Talk about a busy day & he still had time to meet his fans.

        SC celebs

I never had a celeb for a customer, but in college I was working at the radio station, and met a few of the rock stars and several of the WWF stars of the era.

Of the wrestlers, the coolest guy was Ted DiBiase. I was standing there, waiting for my friends to get out, when it started raining. He walks out, looking at the rain, then at me.

        TD: Ted the man
D: future evil bastard and new fan

        TD: What's your name son?
        D: Deceptitech.
TD: Can you drive a stick?
        D: Yes.
TD: *tosses keys to rental car, a red corvette, and tells me the car's plate*"Can you get my car for me before everyone gets out of here? I promised an interview with one of the local stations after the show, and I need something to eat."
D: No problem. *hustles out in the rain to get his car, then drives it to the main entrance*
TD: Thanks. Where is a good place to eat?
D: There is restaraunt X, good food, decent prices, and no rats.*gives directions to nearby location*
TD: *chuckles* How much do you want?
D: Just a thanks and a hand shake. Pleasure to meet you. *helps him out to his car holding an umbrella for him* Have a good night.
TD: You too. *shakes hand, handing me a 50, then drives off leaving a very dumbfounded, awestruck, and grinning Deceptitech in his wake*

After taking my friends home I went to where I had my internship, where I saw that nice red corvette sitting there. I parked my old police car next to it, and walked inside. He looked at me dumbfounded.

        TD: Are you following me?
D: I guess so, but I figure since I intern the night shift here, I have to get on the air in about 20 minutes.
TD: Oh, ok. *looks at cop car next to his* That yours?
D: Yeah, she's old, but she runs circles around anything in the area. *puts hand out to shake, hands him back the 50* You dropped this at the Arena.
TD: That was for getting my car.
D: I'm not a valet, I just did it to be nice.
TD: Well, thank you. *leaves the station*

I did my graveyard shift, from 11:00 pm to 5 am, when the morning maniacs show up. I told them what happened and they laughed at me saying I should have kept the money. I left, and saw there was a padded envelope on the windshield. Inside was the 50 dollars and a note.

        "You dropped this, Ted Dibiase"

I also note that a lot of the "bad guys" in wrestling are the cooler people to meet. Some of the "fan favorites" can be total SCs. That same evening some of the wrestlers went to see the local life in the area, and went to a river casino. A good friend of mine dealt Blackjack at one of them, and told me he dealt a few hands of Blackjack to Mark Calloway. He never tipped the waitress for the several drinks she brought him, hit on her constantly, and complained when he lost several hands at the table.(yeah it's the dealer's fault when you've got 17, and the dealer shows a 5 and you hit)

Made me think a lot about how fame can go to the wrong people.
I did not sell my soul to Satan. He does have a long term lease with the option to buy.

If anyone's familiar with Broadway stars, I've met Chita Rivera. My mom and dad went to high school with Rob Bowman (he was actually the best man in their wedding) - he's the musical director for Chicago on Broadway (like...the actual show in NYC). Because of the setup of the show, he's onstage - which is super cool. I actually met Chita about 10 years ago in West Palm Beach - we went down there to see "Kiss of the Spiderwoman" - which Rob was conducting, and Chita was in. Very very very nice lady...super humble. She's won several Tony awards - she's quite well-known in the Broadway circles.

Hmm...I've also met the Governor of FL haha - he was very nice. My dad knows him better than I do. He's shorter than I thought he was. I saw eye-to-eye with him, and I'm 6'. My mom met Shaq (Basketball player for y'all overseas). This is back when he played for the Magic - again like 10 years ago. My mom was at the bank in the parking lot, and she walked past him, turned, did a double-take, and realized it MUST be him because he was absolutely ginormous. She said he was friendly and all. My dad's famous-person list is much longer...I won't even try to go there haha.

I haven't had a celebrity SC but I did see a look-alike back in August. *Puts on soccer geek hat* I was working a concert at the arena and Chelsea was in Chicago playing the Major League Soccer All-Stars. A guy pulls in and to me he looked a lot like Andriy Shevchenko, who is one of the best players in the world. He had the same facial features, hair and everything and my mind is freaking out because he looked like a duplicate of him. I was dissappointed that it wasn't him though, Shev is one of my favorites.

That's his profile if you're interested.

While we're doinking around with the beast, Levar Burton (Geordi LaForge from Star Trek for all you non-trekkies out there) showed up and wanted to ask us a few questions.

It turns out that he was going to be filming an episode of Reading Rainbow that had as its theme...flight. He was going to be getting his first pilot's lesson and have it recorded for the show. He had gotten there way early so he could look around and chat with other pilots to see what it was like flying a plane. We chatted for a bit and then got his autograph and he went on his flight and we flew back home when we had finished wrangling that guage.

Mirana Sirtis (Cmdr Dianna Troi) wasn't sucky although some schmuck was. The tabloids were ripping her a new one based on 'eye witness' accounts of a Star Trek Convention. The SC who 'reported' on her behavior that she was chewing out a boy because he screwed up his costume. As the guy standing behind the boy I know the truth. It was between Season 1 and Season 2 and she was complementing the boy for his uniform which he did himself (not bad for a 13-year old). What she was doing was not pointing out mistakes, but pointing out the changes in the S1 and S2 uniforms. The kid was happier than a pig in crap and you could see him taking mental notes.

This one I was a bit of an SC...although Walter Koenig (Chekov) took it well. It was at Gencon and I was in line for the autograph. As he's signing I'm telling him how much I loved his performance as Alfred Bester on Babylon 5 and how he was the archetypical villan (classy, charming, and goddamn slimy all at the same time) and with an evil smirk I also asked him if he had done anything else.

He stopped signing, raised an eyebrow, glared at me, smirked, shook his head, finished the autograph then threw it at me and laughed.
You're so lucky. I'm a major Trek fan and I've never been to a con (too expensive because they're all so far away from where I live). I'm just drooling.

                Oh man...where do I start.......

Working in one of the largest hotels in Green Bay, you meet a lot of Celebs when they are in town for events. So here we go:

Celebs I've met, spoken too, and shook hands with, but had only that little bit of contact with:

                Ratt
                Motley Crue
                Metallica
                Tim McGraw & Faith Hill
                Reo Speedwagon
                Ted Nugent
The Entire 49er's football team Including: Jerry Rice, Steve Young, Bill Walsh, Ken Norton Jr, Tommy Thompson........
Ex New England QB Drew Bledsoe and Coach Bill Parcells
About 90% of the Packers Football Team present and past.
                Milton Berle
                Haley Mills
                The Nelson Twins
Ex Buffalo Bills QB: Jim Kelly

Celebs I've met and actually had a good experience with:

Bobcat Golthwait - Actually met him in the hallway of the hotel, and walked around talking to him a little bit. Met his Wife Nikki Cox....wow...hubba hubba. Nice guy Bobcat.

Ralph Macchio (The Karate Kid) - One helluva Shy guy. Came in complaining that some kids wanted him to teach them Karate. He told them to rent the DVD. Other than that, one nice guy when you got past the shyness.

Alan Thicke (Growing Pains) - This guy was outstanding. Talking to anyone and everyone. He was at our hotel for a week. He would always pull up a chair and engage the employee's in conversation. He was awsome!

John Madden - He was a generous guy when he was staying with us. Tipped awsomely, and always took time to talk to you if you wanted to talk football. Big guy, but man was he a joy to talk to. Sign anything and everything for ya. I delivered some winter cloths for him one playoff year. He was very cool.

Howie Long - Another awsome guy. Checked in late on night and wanted a big bowl for some cereal. I got him a big bowl and some milk and he asked me to sit down and keep him company. That was an awsome night! I actually got him to play a prank on one of the front desk girls. Was soooo cool.

Debbie Gibson - What a bitch!! She wanted us to open the pool for her and when we refused she gave us the, "Do you KNOW who I am!" Ugg.....go away you hag.

My personal fav and all time greatest moment.......

Def Leppard!! - I'm a HUGE fan and when they stayed, I was not about to miss them. I got called up to the front desk to assist a guest with a parking issue, and low and behold it was Lead Singer Joe Elliot. I helped him with directions, and then asked him to sign my Euphoria CD Cover. He gladly personalized it and asked me if there was anything else he could sign for me. I just said that I'd love the opportunity, but didn't have anything else at the moment, so we just sat and talked up at the front desk for a while. I was sooooo stoked!!! I then met their manager in the bar and he noticed that I got Joe's autograph and asked if I'd like to meet the rest of the band. HELL YEAH!!!! He called em all up in their room and had them meet me in the bar. I just about fell over. Rick Savage saw that I had the new CD and just about flipped out. I think he was more excited that I had their new Disc than I was about meeting him. He kept asking which songs I liked and why, and which ones I didn't like and why. He kept asking how much airplay it was getting on the local stations. Phil was quiet, very shy, but very nice. Vivian was totally cool and gave me some ribbing about how I obtained the CD. (stole it or bought it) I then got to escort him to his room while chatting with him for a while about the show. We shook hands and that was that. Sadly, I did not get to meet the drummer Rick Allen. Maybe some other time. I've got 4 sigs, would really love to cap it off.

I heard later that before the show the guys were all over the hotel signing things for the employees and giving out free tickets. I love those guys!

Wow you saw Metallica?! That's awesome. When I was younger I was a HUGE fan of Metallica. I have seen them in concert, but never got to meet them at a signing, or see them anyplace else. The closest I came was when I went on a girl scout trip to a dude ranch, and there was a guy staying there that looked EXACTLY like James Hetfield (when he had long hair). I knew it wasn't him because that was after James cut all his hair off...but the dude was definitely his twin. I was too shy to ask, but I sort of wondered how often he got the double takes I was giving him every time he walked by!
Glad you got to meet your favs NightWolf...thats a great story.

I have never had the pleasure of dealing with a celeb customer so I have no bad or good experiences. I have, however, met someone famous-well, on their way to fame anyway...

I went to a Blue October concert just as their hit "Hate Me" was getting play time on the air. I had loved their music for a while, first hearing their song "Calling You" on the American Wedding soundtrack. So when I found out about their concert in my state, I was thrilled! I got a few friends together and dragged them to the concert with me. There was no specific seating arrangements and we managed to squeeze ourselves into the standing area just in front of the stage. We were in the second row from the stage, right in front of the microphone where the lead singer would be!!!!! The concert was awesome, I got some GREAT pictures on my phone, one of which was the lead singer, Justin Furstenfield, looking right into my camera. I was so star struck, it's not even funny. Well, at the end of the concert you could pay ten dollars for their new CD (which was a great price for a CD, I think) and they gave you a Blue October picture and you got to go meet them and get their autographs. I was easily able to laugh and chat with the guys who played the instruments and sang back up but when I got to Justin, I could barely speak. I think he is an amazing artist and I love it when bands make songs about things that are from within their souls instead of singing whatever will make them pop-stars and I think Blue October definitely does that. Anyway, all I could do was stare with my mouth hanging open. I managed to smile and say, "Hi." Justin got a really annoyed look on his face and said hi back then got up and walked away. I think he thought I was twiterpated or trying to be a typical groupie (you know, trying to get a key to his hotel room or something like that) but I just totally respect him as an artist and think he is brillant and I was in total awe just being in his presence. So, he turned out to be a somewhat of a jerk and it was really disappointing. I have another story about my little sister but I have to go now so I will post it later!

Since I'm a smartass, I probably would have replied with something along the lines of "Yeah, I know who you are. You're someone who hasn't had a hit since about 1984, and is still trying to live off past fame...even though you're 15 minutes are long over. Shut the hell up already"

I met one famous person when I was working. I was doing security for Nan Desu Kan in Denver (their annual japanese animation convention), and Mari Iijima came to town. I knew she was coming since I do a fan site for her, so of course, I was excited about it. I got to go in first to the concert and got a seat, so I watched her warming up. She recognized me from the pic I sent her once, walked up to me and gave me a big hug saying "I finally get to meet you."

I was thinking "isn't that MY line?" while smiling HUGELY. It was the nicest present I think I ever got. She was VERY nice the entire time she was in town, and absolute treat to meet.

It's just nice to meet famous people who act REAL - ya know?

I've never met a celeb personally. The closest I've ever gotten was seeing them at concerts! I did hear a juciy story on the radio a few days ago about the "lovely" Sienna Miller:

                              http://sheknows.com/entertainment/20...sienna-miller/

Basically she is denied access to a bar for not having ID. She reportedly throws a fit and uses the old "Do YOU know who I am?!" line. Yeah, like EVERYONE knows who the famed Sienna is.........

When I worked Security at a corporate event in cincinnati I met Marge Schott. She was not that bad to me but then all I had to do was nod and say hello when she walked in. She looked like one of her dogs though and was either distracted or grumpy as all I got back was a nod and gruntted good evening. I got told by my relief that when she left she was in a much lighter mood. Somehow I'm thinking a few glasses of champagne or wine would do that.

I sat directly behind her at a Reds game once she smoked like a chimney all the little kids would go down to her and shed sign autographs and put Schottzies paws on them
