    SC:Nutty one who got let out for the day
    BP:Poor bus station person who drew short straw A this morning.

    SC:Can you tell me where the centre is?
    BP:Well,if you go through this alley,that will take you into the city centre.
    SC:No the city centre,just the centre.
    BP:You don't mean the city centre then?
    SC:No,just the centre.
    BP: Do you mean the shopping centre?
    SC:No,the centre.
    BP:Which centre?Is it a sports centre,a swimming centre,a garden centre.
    SC:No,it's the centre.It's the centre I go to.I have to be at the centre.
    BP:Ah,do you have the name of the centre?
    SC:No,it's just the centre.
    BP:I'm afraid I really don't know which centre you mean.
    SC:It's the centre.Why won't you tell me where the centre is?
    BP:I'm trying to,but I can't help if I don't know which centre you're referring to.
    SC:You know what I mean-the centre.

    For all I know,they're there still.Either that or she 'accidentally' ended up under the No 57...

                  I once met a lost tourist who knew the bus they wanted picked up at *my town*
                  But instead of looking for a bustop in *my town* that their particular bus stopped at, they were wandering along the town high street asking "where's *my town*?"

                  I tried to explain that they needed a busstop for bus number XXX, and that they were _already_ in *town*, but no dice.

                    To be fair, I've seen some businesses that call themselves "The Center" (or "Centre" for those with British English). They may have other parts to their names, but if they're going by just "The Center", then it's quite likely a drug rehab or other counseling center, and the use the short name to allow clients to have some confidentiality.

                    And a drug problem might account for the dull repetition of the insistence on finding "The Centre".
