I just wanted to clarify, i see nothing wrong with paying $600 for shoes... hell if you've got the cash, and wanna buy yourself a present... go for it!

It's just while I could see myself paying $600 for a lot of thing (hell, I'm considering a $4500 laptop right now), SHOES ain't one of those things... then again, I'm so hard on shoes, I have to buy "skater shoes" (Vans), just so they last longer than 2 months. Good thing VANS are comfy as hell and can survive almost anything

they are made by Salvatore Ferragamo, VERY, VERY comfortable shoes. and they are made of Doe skin (sorry animal rights people )

nice looking shoe... I guess most of the price is from the material used though...

$600 is one month's rent for me, and like 95% of a pay check! Gah!

I don't own any overly expensive clothes, but alas, it really does chap my ass when I'm out and about just enjoying some drinks and company and some stumbling drunks spills all over my clothes. It can be a pain to try to wash that crap off.

Ferragamo is niiiiice stuff. Pay what you want for shoes, it's not my money (I'd spend that on a bag, though. lol That's my thing). No matter how much the cost, that guy was a douche. If someone spilled coffee on me, I don't know if I'd have reacted as calmly as you. People never cease to amaze me with their douchebaggery.

About a fifth (most likely less) of the price was for the materials. The rest was for the designer. Love me some Ferragamo. Love me even more some Jimmy Choos!

I was going to ask if they were Ferragamo's. Pricey but well worth it.

                          I sum up:

                          Guy was an asswipe.

You have far too much disposable income.

                            reminds me of my neighbor:

Me: Your dog is my yard
asshole neighbor: well you shouldn't leave food out in your yard!

Me: your dog is trying to break down the fence to get into my yard
an: your tree broke the fence!
uh, no, no tree broke the fence at that juncture.

Also, maybe the douche is a lawyer or watches a lot of law shows. If he apologises, he acknoledges that it was his fault there fore he is liable for damages.
Time! Time! Time is what turns kittens into cats.

Don't teach me a lesson; all I learn is that you are an asshole.

                                that guy was an asshole.

Thank you for not then going to the barista and yelling at them.

I once had a guy who this happened to, who then came to me at the bar and basically yelled at my because some other asshole spilled coffee on him, didn't apologize and was an asshole to him, and what was I going to do about it?

I said that it sucked that he go coffee spilled on him, and that he should have yelled at the guy.

I'm sorry about the pretty shoes. You could always go back and ask them if by any chance the asshat that did it was a regular, and if they say yes leave a bill for him.
