I shop in my store because I'm already there and after 8 hours I really don't want to stop anywhere else I don't have to.
I used to do the same thing. Plus I knew exactly where everything was.

The supermarket I work in encourages us to shop in our own store. They don't (can't) make it mandatory. I think there is a difference. When we are off the clock, we shop where we want.

We mostly shop in our own store, but sometimes you want to be away from your workplace (amirite?), so we go elsewhere once in a while.

When I worked in a military commissary I wasn't military, so I couldn't shop there. It would have been nice, though - the prices were better than the ones I was paying having to shop elsewhere.
