Question about sharing tills.

    Yes Kroger does the shared till thing. The only problem is if there is a discrepancy, you can't always figure out who it is right away, and it can be an ongoing issue till you're able to track down the problem. We're suppose to audit the till between shifts, but we don't have the time, plus this new setup we have makes it almost impossible to determine an over/short anyway (don't ask).

    Basically if the till is off they end up questioning everyone that used that till, and it is not fun. Plus there are also a few generic numbers that quite a few people know about, and if you now what you're doing, stealing off a register in this company can get pretty easy, and getting caught can take a long while.

    So it CAN be a problem, but not always, it depends. I prefer the one cashier per drawer policy, as it makes the cashier feel more accountable, and can keep cash loss from being an ongoing issue.
