  • Mytical's Pharmacy...

coming soon to a location near you. *sighs*

As I sit here, I look to my right..and there they are. Soldiers lined up, ready for battle. Private Lyrica, was the newest member..dedicated and protective of all the others. Private first class Metropolol - he is a mellow fellow and has a calming effect on the others when their nerves get to them. Specialist Trazo-done - A sleepy little fellow from North Carolina..one of our best snipers ... if you could keep him awake. Next comes the hard nosed Buck Sergents Xifaxan, he was by the book and if you strayed from the book he would be the first to kick you in the backside. Rounding out the squad was Lieutenant Glipizide, it had been a bit controversial to have a female being SiC..or even be in the group..but Headquarters would have a fight from the rest of the squad if they tried to remove her. Of course there was the battle scarred leader..tested in battle, some even say exhausted, but with the heart of a lion. Captain Metformin had worked his way up from a Buck Private, the hard way, and had eyes of steal..and a heart of gold.

Of course from time to time they would get reinforcements, after all they were in a loosing battle. The names have come and gone, at one time their number had swelled to 20..but the core members stayed the same. Their mission..to go behind enemy lines and fight against the forces of the Collaboration. They are fighting a losing battle, against insurmountable odds. They are "Mytical's Pharmacy" Coming soon to a theater near you!

Just started my insulin regimen tonight. Was scared witless to have to stab myself with a needle, but it was fairly painless..well until when recapping the needle (you know so it doesn't hurt anybody) I poked my finger. *laughs* The finger poke hurt worse then the injection. Injection was in the stomach (like they taught me). So welcome Corporal Insulin to the Ranks.

Apparently my insurance doesn't cover the pens. So it is the needles for me.

I just changed from pen back to vial for myself - I actually prefer it. Call me nuts [now stop that, it was rhetorical!] but I like seeing the insulin actually leave the syringe and go into me.

Though I tend to use my thighs rather than stomach. I am getting more surgical scars on my tummy than I like to see - and I really do not like the scar tissue dodging, the collection of incisions I have decreases the real estate I have available. I also think the thighs are less sensitive to needles.

[and besides, the syringes are perfect for injecting vodka into grapes....]

Mytical, I salute you and your troops! I wish you didn't have to take all that stuff, but I hope it helps.

Though I can't take Ibuprofen. Most over the counter pain/fever reducing things are bad for me. NSAIDS are out, etc.

I have a coworker who has an insulin pump. She just has to change the little bottle inside every so often. (She's been Type 1 since she was a kid.)

I flop around like a trout out of water, there is no way that I am a good candidate for a pump....and with all the abdominal scarring, it would suck ass trying to find clear spaces to change the needles to, and I am allergic to surgical adhesive [bandages, patches and clearstick - there is only one paper tape hypoallegeinci "bandaid tape" I can use, and it rips if oyu look at it harshly.]
