Default oye vey...graphics problem and OMGWTFBBQ i can't play my video game!

I'm going to try and explain this as best I can although it is very wierd. I am a die hard Sims 2 fan and play every day. I normally play on the highest resolution setting in game, which is like 1200 something x something. the lowest graphic option is 800x600. All of a sudden, the only graphics option available to me ingame is the 800x600, the other options don't even show up at all.

I have reinstalled the game and all expansion packs and it is the same. Could my graphics card have somehow reset itself? I have a nvidia geforce with CUDA graphics card and never had an issue with it. the strange thing is, everything was fine until comcast came to upgrade our service. The tech had to do something on my laptop to reset the wireless settings, and I went to play Sims right after that and discovered the settings. I can't play the game in 800x600, The whole gaming panel doesn't even fit across the screen in that mode.

How can I get into my graphics card to check the settings? I have Windows 7 if that helps.

They can take my life...but they can't take MY SIMS!!!!!!!

The first thing you should do is update the driver software.

Search for Device Manager, open it, click the arrow next to "Display Adapters", click on your graphics card, there should be an icon on the menu bar that has a green arrow point up - that's update drivers. Choose "Search Automatically for Updated Driver Software"
