I've got a couple questions related to the previous post:

    - Does the site offer glitter in special shapes (pentagrams, stylized genetalia, etc.), or just the usual squares?

    - How long would it take to unload a pneumatic dry bulk tanker of glitter?

Well, it's been a while since I've dealt with bulk tankers and I'm not sure of the density of glitter vs concrete, but it would take around 45 minutes to an hour to unload a tanker with 26 tons of concrete. I would expect glitter to be less dense, but even if it's half as dense as concrete that tanker is still going to have 13 tons of glitter. Assuming the same transport rate(mass moved over time) as with concrete, it would take a little under a half hour.

Speaking of glitter, I've debated a Halloween costume for a couple years now, wanted to make a glitter monster that can throw a stream of glitter, either arm mounted a la spideys web throwers or go dragonesque and give it a glitter breath weapon.

The key to the costume lies in two lovely tooltoys I own. First off, the air wonder gun. It's a venturi gun that uses compressed air. Commonly sold as a vacuum, but if you take apart the gun and reverse the venturi port, it's a blowgun.

They do work kind of neat for launching tootsie rolls as well, tried it for a parade float once. It just doesn't work well enough. Needs to be just a bit larger diameter for the tootsie rolls to flow right. As it was, it would launch a few then the twisty ends would catch and plug the nozzle, poke it and it would unjam, but it needed constant attention.

And for power, instead of having to drag an air compressor, I plan on using a Powertank system. CO2 tank with a regulator that outputs @ normal compressor levels. Real reminiscent of remote line setups for paintball.

Depends if I could manage to get a glitter shipping business going =) Honestly, if I had the money for the startup, I would seriously consider it. Can't get dinged for shipping hazmat, glitter is not [yet] classed as a hazardous material. Can't get dinged for anything illegal, it is not illegal to ship someone a gift that was already paid for, and I am not trying to collect money from the person targeted. Though come to think of it, I can't see it would be illegal to send them a post card saying they are going to be getting a glitter mail and if they want to pay me $10 I will not ship ... it isn't blackmail under the technical definition of blackmail.

The bids are up to $60,000, with a couple of hundred bids pending. Someone is planning on getting rich off of that web site.

It seems we've got a subversive element in the midst of all this wonderful glitter.

It is not "subversive" They are only trying to cash in quickly on the Meme of the day.

Oh wait, that might be the definition of subversive. hmm, carry on.

Looks like the Aussie site is for sale.

                  FWIW, there's a US-based glitter mailing site.
I'm trying to see things from your point of view, but I can't get my head that far up my keister!

The Australian site has just been sold for $85,000.00!

The owner must be happy now. All that money and no more glitter.

Are you kidding? We all know glitter is forever. I still have flakes of it laying around from CS Christmas cards several years ago.

Cindy -- That was his plan from the beginning. Turns out, it's why he made the site. Well played, Glitterman, Well played.
