Good thinking on your part! Glad everyone is relatively safe.

I hope so too but video cameras alone are not as effective at catching people as you may think. Having the footage is one thing. Knowing who was in it is quite another.
That's what facebook is for - if you have good images, post them. No guarantees, but there's a chance someone they know will rat them out.

I HAVE seen that happen but there's usually a reward out for shopping those people. I can't imagine Elecstores offering a reward for these people :/

Put the images up anyway. If someone who doesn'tmlike them sees it, they'll get ratted out just to piss them off.

That sort of thing worked here in Aus a few years ago.

Couple of idiots thought it would be smart to rob a security/surveillance camera shop... Yep the footage was played on repeat on a monitor in the front window...

We have a TV show over here; "Crimewatch" which works on the same principle and I have seen it work on the internet before but I am always skeptical about such things.

We have much the same here, but called "CrimeStoppers". Little 2-3 minute shorts played at random times of the day.

ah. Crimewatch is an hour long thing the BBC put on about once a month.

i got held up when i was working at the casino. we had pictures of the guy going into the casino, doing the job and than exiting the casino - from about 10 different angles. he was caught quickly.
The mere fact that we have the flamethrower means that someone, somewhere once said "You know, I'd really like to set those customers over there on fire, but don't possess the means to do it"

Sadly, the video cameras in our store are shit with a capital SHIT. They are worse quality than my standard definition handy-cam.

Sorry, but, just have to LOL at a "Tech" store with a state of the art security system, but lousy technology when it comes to security cameras?
                            How very sadly ironic.
(Not to laugh at the seriousness of the situation because it sounds like a scary tale you will be telling for years to come, but it seems like they could afford to not skimp on the technology. )

It's always made us smile a little too. You would think that being a tech store our CCTV would at least record in HD. 720p at worst but nooooo.

The problem with the company I work for is that things aren't done properly, they are done CHEAPLY.

Well thankfully the injuries were all "walking" injuries. Fingers crossed that they catch them
