My tests were the Man with No Name from the spaghetti westerns and John Galt from Atlas Shrugged. Both on the second attempt. I was impressed.
I'm trying to see things from your point of view, but I can't get my head that far up my keister!

    Who is John Galt?
    -Ayn Rand, Atlas Shrugged

is it bad that I like using really obscure things as 'characters' to stump him?

Beaten, with Bel Thorne from the Vorkosiverse!
EVE Online: 99% of the time you sit around waiting for something to happen, but that 1% of action is what hooks people like crack, you don't get interviewed by the BBC for a WoW raid.

I beat it on Robert Culp, Ray Milland, Ivor Novello, M.R. James, and Kelly Robinson (the last one a fictional character).

I beat it with Ruth (The White Dragon), Daine (Immortals Quartet) and Lanen Kaelar (Song in the Silence).

It got Abby (NCIS) thought I'd give it something easy

Ooo, wish I'd thought of that! I like Bel! Always wanted him/her and Miles to get together!

ETA: Crap! Thought I'd stump it with FSM...but no, the damn thing beat me!

It didn't know Ronald Colman, Helene Hanff, or Walter Lord.

Stumped him twice, and he got it right on the 3rd try.

I was beginning to wonder if he'd ever heard of Illya Nikovetch Kuryakin.

Stumped him twice more before he finally guessed at Napoleon Solo. . .

This could be fun all night long . . .

I've had it stymied many times.
