"Experience and connections"

Looking through some want ads for extras and all of them say the same thing: You won't be paid but you get film credit, connections and experience!"
Great and all, but acting is like photography: while experience and connections are nice, money is much better.
Still, I feel as though I'm perpetuating this by considering applying.

Meh, I understand that this is the norm for extras, but I wonder how the recruiter would feel if they weren't paid with money...
