Life sucks when you don't know what you want to do when you grow up until you grow up.

I would have settled for a vaguely interested careers counsellor. My high school one was so burnt out that her only suggestion to me was 'you'll figure it out.'

If you already had an idea of what you wanted to do at uni, she was apparently ok with getting you info. But if you were like me and didn't want to study for the sake of it, she was clueless.

Going to school for that sort of thing really has a way of putting things into perspective and for messing the settings on your give-a-shitter all up. Once you see a few pictures confiscated in a child porn raid, it becomes extremely hard to care about some Cubic Zirconium member's stupid little problem that has them in a frothing rage.

I dunno. Sounds like yours is working pretty good to me.

Stuff to care about: Children who are victims of child porn.

Stuff not to care about: Some entitled ass CZ member's insignificant, petty problem.

Yeah, sounds about right to me.

When I was in high school, I went through a few different things I wanted to do, a couple of which would have probably required doctorates.

1. Psychiatrist/Psychologist (I'd go back and forth)
2. Electrical Engineer
3. Architect
4. Physicist

I ended up being a software engineer.
