I went to Haiti!! :D *pic heavy*

So I had a fabulous 8 day trip to Haiti a few weeks ago. We did medical mission clinics for several days and just got to see what life down there is all about. We stayed at a beautiful beach front property, but once you exited the gate you were surrounded by poverty. Goats, pigs, dirty kids running every barefoot, sometimes naked. But they were happy. So happy to be alive, they were very loving and would walk down the street just holding your hand but not being able to communicate due to the language difference.

I have never been so thankful in my life for electricity, hot water, cool weather and the interwebs.


* notice the pic of the cinder block toilet.....It had lizards in it. I held it in sometimes.....

i understand of what you speak of. i went to another "resort island" a few years ago on my first ship - Tahiti. sure there were resorts there and beaches and waterfalls, but it also had poverty, tin shacks etc.
