I mean, yeah, I think Christmas has lost some of it's meaning, and some of those things...and yeah, I just dropped a decent sum on Christmas presents, but I don't think the Pastor should have done this.
He should have really saved it for a sermon. I'm guessing his concern is that if the parents are lying to their kids about Santa, the kids may wonder if the parents are lying about God/Jesus...
I get that concern, but most kids who are raised in Christian households believe in Santa for a time, then grow up and continue to have their faith in God/Jesus.
Unless he thinks that the whole Santa thing promotes greed and/or socialism...
