Boris Strugatsky Dead at 79

The Strugatsky brothers were among the finest SF writers of the 20th century. Arkady died some years ago, and now Boris is also gone. Very sad day for lovers of science fiction. If you've never read their work, I strongly suggest the newest US trade paperback of Roadside Picnic, which includes an afterward detailing the book's torturous route to publication in the USSR.

Wow .... sad news. Though not unexpected, many of the Old Guard are of that age now. [I would note that we have been losing more and more good authors recently - Harry Harrison was back in August/]
