  • Antivirus folks lend a hand?

Ran my usual scan last night like I always do and apparently picked up another Trojan. (Dammit, and I was doing so well on not contracting crap lately...)

However, this was not a generic Trojan like the last two were. This one is called:

    Trojan horse Dropper.Bravix.B

Can anyone enlighten me as to what that means?

Looks like a VERY new trojan. Google-Fu only returned information on Bravix.B that was younger than a week.

And I'd assume that Bravix.B is a new new form, version B instead of A.

I'd quarantine it and report it to the Anti Virus people - email addy's are included in your AV software. (Probably under help or Report).

    This is about Trojan Droppers:

    Clean up and good luck.

Well, it is entirely possible to be a false positive. Since you didn't say what virus scan you ran that detect it. I would submit the file to http://virusscan.jotti.org/ to double check. Which will in turn submit it (if it really a virus) to nearly every anti-virus writer.

I have a old (now free for everyone) game called elders scroll arena. That virus scans keep saying it has trojan "pattern".
I've lost my mind ages ago. If you find it, please hide it.
