Ok, if I am taking my grandmother to the store, I will stop in front of the store so she can get out and not have to walk across the parking lot. The key word in that sentence is stop, because once she was out of the car I went and parked. I have no problem with people stopping to let somebody else, then proceeding to park.
I agree with that. When I used to bring my grandmother places I would stop in front of the door and let her out, and I would also go get the car and pull up to the curb when she was done. But she had trouble walking. (Oh, and don't leave your hazard lights blinking after you park the car when you're waiting during a 3 hour doctor appointment. ) But if you are actually turning off the engine, go find a parking spot.
