  • So why'd you send it then.

    Brief idiocy here.

They sent no fewer than sixteen prescriptions for one of our patients. We wound up filling four of them.

Half were too soon. Put those on hold for 7/01.

Some weren't covered; put those on hold, with no date.

One was a duplication of therapy; I'm not filling Mobic if someone is already on Naprosyn. Will call MD tomorrow on that. Meantime, put on hold, no date.

Then there's this one. Prescription for Carafate tabs, with a note in the free text, as follows, verbatim:

PATIENT IS OFF TIS EMDICATION TDO NOT FILL

I'm guessing that means "Patient is off this medication; do not fill."

So why the did you send me it then???

Was he trying to cancel a prescription that might have refills left on it, just to make sure the patient doesn't get them and (like a sheep grazing) take them without realizing they shouldn't?

The spelling mistakes are inexcusable, tho.
Sorry, my cow died so I don't need your bull

We keep getting those through the fax. Looks like a completely regular rx, until you notice in *teeny tiny print* on the very bottom "rx denied".
Instead of just not responding at all, or contacting the patient and telling them they are denying it, they send something that, for all intents and purposes, looks EXACTLY like a renewal rx. So frustrating!
