Wisdom is knowing to bring earplugs

Experience is knowing they don't have to go in until the prestage lights come on

Using them for Pro Stock events and below just means you're a wuss...

A lifetime of NASCAR and sprint car races can lull one into complacency that one knows what a "loud engine" sounds like..... until you've been 50 yards from an NHRA dragster, you don't know loud.

Put me in the "wuss" category, then...

I'll say I've gone to some bracket races without them, but I tend to bring them. I really don't want hearing problems later in life.

I'm taking a buddy of mine to a Nationals event soon. He's never been. I think he'll be hooked after the first pair.
