    May he rest in peace.

      RIP, Dr. Hawking.

His contributions to science have been extraordinary.

I bet the first thing he did after crossing over was go for a run. Now his body can match his mind.

Rest in peace in whatever afterlife you saw fit to join.

Is it too soon for wondering if he downloaded himself into his computer systems first?

I'm impressed he managed to make it to 76 with ALS. I thought it was life threatening much sooner than that

He wasn't expected to live to 30, if I remember right.

When he was 22 and diagnosed with it he was told he would live 2 years, tops. He clearly said "Fuck you" to that idea.

ISTR that it turned out his original diagnosis wasn't quite right, and he turned out to have a milder (or at least slower) version of the disease.

He was born on the 300th anniversary of Galileo's death. He died on Albert Einstein's birthday (also Pi Day).

This parody site's take on it is amusing and decidedly affectionate:

Stephen Hawking Escapes The Physical Universe.
