Florida is a right to work state and employers can use any bullshit excuse they have to fire people so long as it doesn't break the law. It's fucked up they got fired for the whole orange shirt thing that was innocent.

Part of me kinda wonders about that.

Cos I've never heard of people wearing matching shirts just to go to a bar. But if they really were protesting management then that could be a backup "reason" in case they got caught.

They had someone on the radio who claimed they had a good friend who worked there. It was a protest - there is a manager who is very unpleasant to most of the people there and always has a spray-on tan (a bad one that is orange) and that is why they were doing it. The happy hour thing was a cover-up.

I don't know how true this is but it is plausible.

the article states that ironically, if they had been doing a protest, they couldn't have been fired....

btw, there are people that will "coordinate" so that when they go to a large bar they can always find each other; makes it easier to make sure everyone is "safe"

Management assumed I meant them, which was amusing as they were kinda clueless but in actuality I was refering to an "expert" they'd been consulting with who'd told them that half the processes we used & relied upon on a daily basis couldn't work together in the way they quite evidently did!
