Question from several customers: "If I buy [item] today and it goes on sale maybe next week, how long do I have in order to get the sale price?" Meaning, of course, a refund of the not-sale amount.

One authority figure, to one customer: "90 days."

Second authority figure, to a different customer, on a different day: "30 days."

Me:

I mentioned to the second authority figure what the first had said, and she said no, that's absolutely wrong. I sure as hell hope that first customer doesn't try to get a sale price-match after 30 days ...

Gee, these policies are usually in writing somewhere. (That's if that outfit could be bothered to put up that little bit of signage) Still, in writing, even in the handbook, somewhere, should be one of those things that gets read by the manglement.

As far as I can tell, we have NOTHING in writing. Except our contracts. Which might as well not be, since they don't seem to be worth the paper they're written on.
