Considering that said comic is from nearly 12 years ago, it's oddly prescient considering most retail policies now basically have the same mentality.

Unfortunately, the smiling has been expected when Scott Adams wrote the strip. What I found disturbing was the last panel, where Dilbert and Wally praise the fact that it looks as if she was flirting with them.

what's sadder even still is that 12 years later, some people still think "she's smiling = flirting with me!"
