    I love British general elections

    Lord Buckethead secured 125 votes,beating off Count Binface with 69 and Tickle Me Elmo Smith (who appeared in full Elmo costume at the count) with 8.

      The thing is any nut can decide they want to try and be an MP and if it's a major seat like the Prime Minister's, then you're guaranteed some media exposure and a good couple of minutes on national TV at the count. I especially love the joy of the returning officer having to announce seriously that Mr. Fishfinger of the Fishfinger Party-Free Fishfingers for all has amassed 7 votes....

      And so you get wonderful line-ups like this
