Let me get this straight:
First you start off by trying to engage me in pointless small talk when I have other orders I have to get to.
Second you start telling me some long drawn out story about an order you made three months ago and how not only was your made to order pizza more expensive than a combination pizza (they're priced differently) but that we messed up your order. This was three months ago. You make it a point to tell me what a great customer you are and ask if I can in some way compensate you in addition to using your coupon. Over something that may or may not have happened three months ago.
Third when I tell you I'll be more than happy to honor your coupon but I really can't compensate for something that happened that long ago unless you called in a got some sort of credit, you decide to pull out your artillery. You demand to know who my boss is.
The rest in dialog form: As well as I can remember
ME:
JA = Jackass
ME: I'm the shift manager tonight.
JA: Who's your boss? Who's over you?
(The owner is busy topping a pizza, I really don't feel like bothering him with this stuff)
ME: I have full authority on my shifts to make the final decisions.
JA: Oh you do? Well I'm gonna find out just who your boss is and we're gonna have a little talk.
ME: Are you threatening me?
JA: You've pissed off the wrong person buddy
(Crosstalk. I basically tell him where he can stuff his empty threats, he keeps talking over me with more empty threats.)
ME: We're not going to get anywhere if you keep talking over me.
JA: Well I WILL talk over you because (wait for it) I'm the customer.
ME: Look I already told you. I'll make your pizza and honor your coupon. There's nothing else I'll do.
JA: Oh you'll do something when I find out who your boss is.
(have I ever mentioned that the boss and I have been friends since before he bought into the business, also the guy who makes the policies that basically says you got a problem let us know right away so we can fix it. Don't wait for three months to go by and THEN decide to do something about it.)
ME: What do you hope to gain? You think you're gonna get me fired?
JA: No.
ME: If this was so important to you, why didn't you inform us WHEN it happened. Like you're going to call up so long after the fact to lodge a complaint....
Fucker starts to talk over me AGAIN!!!
ME: Look I'm sorry. You've kept me from other orders I have to make. I've told you what I'll do. It's your responsibility to....
AGAIN talking over me.
ME: I'm ending this conversation.
I hung up. Then told the situation to the owner and apologized. The owner shrugged it off.
OWNER: That guy wasted enough of our time. These orders are going to be late. Let's get to it.
I'll willfully admit I probably didn't handle the situation as well as I could have. I should have remained calm. The guy tried several SC scammer tactics from buttering me up, to getting angry, to making threats and I got emotionally roped in so in essence he won.
I'm so sick of these people.
