    Yes, that part's true.

    But, thanks to the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, breaking the copy protection on the DVD in order to make the backup copy is illegal, as well as telling people how to break said protection.

    Doesn't make me any less about it. I have 4 kids, so I'm making backups of all my media!

      Well I actually live in Canada, not the U.S. so I'm not sure what the law here is.
