Today I lied to a customer

I lied to a customer today but feel that it was perfectly justified.

COM: Crazy Old Man
Me: Awesome game store manager

COM: Hi, can I have a coffee?
Me: Sorry sir, we dont serve coffee here.
COM: But this is a cafe, you have to serve coffee!
Me: Sorry sir but this is an internet cafe, not a coffee cafe.
COM: Yes so I want a coffee.
Me: No coffee here, just internet.
COM: Thats it I want to use the internet.
Me: *time to lie methinks* Sir, the internet here is just for gaming, no browsing.
COM: But I want to check my email.
Me: Nope.
COM: *Storms out*

I do not want people that dumb using my computers, who knows what they will do to them.

EDIT: I work at a game store, there is NO mistaking us for a coffee shop.

So I'm guessing the lie here is when you said that customers weren't allowed to use the internet for browsing? Seems like you were perfectly justified in refusing the old guy that service. As far as I'm concerned, you didn't even have to lie about your reasons, but your method probably did result in less conflict all round.

Good for you. Guy probably would have started browsing adult sites and then would have claimed your computer was infected and made him go to adult sites if you called him out on it.

Can't you just be brutally honest & say "Look, you're too stupid to be here...GET OUT!!" Would help in a lot of retail situations...lol.
