My side income is land intensive. I raise cattle and hogs to sell to folks for their meat eating. I also sell veggies at the farmers market.
My youngest daughter is in culinary school and works part time for a caterer as a cook. She also decorates cakes that she bakes here at home. She used to make edible flowers for cakes. That is labor intensive and her boss would knock off for the least little imperfections, she just couldn't be pleased.
Tax season is upon us, keep that in mind. Local IRS office as well as HR-Block puts on classes.

I'm seriously considering writing to my reps (though it might not do much good in an election year, I might have to wait until 2019) at the state level and asking them why it costs $300 or so to start an LLC here in Texas.

I've got a couple of ideas for business names, and logos, and a few ideas for things I want to pursue.
