I'm not sure if it was DK1 or 2, but there were two messages that occasionally popped up that I really liked. Normally the messages were "You are under attack" or "Your creatures need a larger lair" or the like, but these two were "Your dungeon is on an incline, angry creatures cannot play marbles" and "Your dungeon has too many mistresses. There's a word for keepers like you.". Possibly different wording, but I remember they had a few funny ones like that although those two always made me laugh.
Second one. The incline quote was random and the Mistress quote comes when you recruit at least 9 Dark Mistresses. Yes, get that one a lot. The Dark Mistresses are probably the best fighters in the game.

I seem to recall that wonderfully grim narrator making a comment when I started one of the "secret"/hidden levels. Something about encouraging hordes of cute little bunny rabbits to come into your region so that you could do horrible things to them later on. The glee in his voice was almost palpable, and yet he still sounded for all the world like Vincent Price reading Poe.
IIRC War For the Overworld is getting the same narrator.

Dungeon Keeper looks like an interesting game. The big turn off for me is that it requires online access. I like games that you can play offline too if you want.

Buy the originals. Offline access and no micro transactions.

The comic was inspired by it, at least in part.

And now the narrator is the voice of "Daddy Pig" on Peppa Pig. There may be weirder things in this world, but that job change is high up on my personal list.

first I was really disappointed by this game because dungeon keeper's play style is almost perfect for a touchscreen.

next the jimquisition tackled this beautifully http://www.escapistmagazine.com/vide...3-Free-To-Wait

Third I remember playing dk2 and loving it. One thing that stands out is I captured a casino once and all of a sudden the game starts playing disco inferno and the narrator says "lets party like its 1999" and all my minions start dancing.
Interviewer: What is your greatest weakness?
Me: I expect competence from my coworkers.

I may need to get DK2! That sounds wonderful!

Here's the GoG page for it for 6 dollars. It's probably the only version that works on modern PC's

If you get DK Gold and DK 2 it's just under $10

I love GOG, they have sucked almost a hundred bux out of my bank account over the past year. I love the older games! Almost finished with DK1, then I have deeper levels to do =)
