  • An interesting linguistic challenge...

Based upon the XKCD "Up Goer Five" comic:

    https://xkcd.com/1133/

It's "THE UP-GOER FIVE TEXT EDITOR"

Try to explain something using the 1,000 (or, as they put it, ten hundred) most commonly used English words.

Looking at the drawing, the "Ring holding most of the computers" is the part my office worked on when I worked for NASA during my university days. I was in a co-op engineering program.

Oh it would need a particularly skilled and adept knowledge of language to this..so not many people would be able to do it... This calls for a cunning linguist

Thank you I'm here all week...er until they chuck me overboard. I recommend the veal...well it recommended itself to me. Just couldn't resist it

Jokes like this can fill a show.
This site proves Corey Taylor right. Man really is a "four letter word."

I'm now using my Deviant Art page to post my humor.

Someone pointed out to me that this was, in fact, one of the goals of "Newspeak" in 1984. To reduce the number of words in the language itself. I didn't consider that perspective until he mentioned it.
