    Well, the decision was made for me

    The past few weeks I have been trying to decide if I really wanted to stay at my current job or not.
    Tonight the owner announced the restaurant was closed for good.
    At least now I can claim UI and when I am asked at an interview why I left my last job I can answer "the restaurant closed".

      One of the gentler ways of being dismissed, certainly lessens any possible future issues. Good luck with finding something new!

          Well, I am back to work. That was a nice long break.
          The owner of the restaurant that closed opened up a Gelato place 3 minutes away from my house and I am managing it.
          Just opened a few days ago so it is pretty well me and him. With lots of time to play on the computer. Hoping to be busy soon.

            But great that you are employed again -- the owner obviously thinks highly of you -- and yeah, hope you get busy quickly!
