So what did everyone get today?

-a lingerie set (from the boyfriend)
-iTunes gift card for my iPad.
-the first year teachers survival guide.
    -a bookend.
-borrower arrietty. (As in the anime film)
    -chocolate almonds.
-more chocolates from my boyfriends family.

My boyfriend is getting books (cyanide and happiness and the cracked.com book), my boyfriends parents are getting a box of nuts, my boyfriends sister is getting some makeup. I know that my boyfriend himself is getting a movie gift voucher from his parents....gold class time!

    Happy Holidays to y'all!

Well, I didn't get anything (we have an agreement that only the children get presents), but Lil' Zel got a great loot...

    - a 500 GB PS3 console from Ma Zel ( )
    - a Skylanders game for said PS3 from my BIL and SIL
    - a chemistry set from me and Mr Zel
    - a gym outfit from my MIL (as she said tongue-in-cheek: "well, at least ONE grandparent has to bring a boring gift in a soft parcel!" )

The only present I've gotten so far is a new winter jacket.

Will open the rest later tonight.

I have gotten an early Christmas gift from my cousin in San Diego. We exchange gifts every year. She wanted me to open it early.

I have gotten: a t-shirt that says San Diego, CA.
a cup that's pink that has a star and Hollywood CA on it
A beautiful Coach purse, with matching umbrella, and a beautiful Coach scarf.

I opened one gift early from the parents as we do every Christmas Eve.

I got a heat miser and snow miser bobble head. I love Year without a Santa Claus, and those two are my favorite characters.

I will open the rest tomorrow, and post then.

The bf and I had agreed to only get stuff for the kiddos this year, but that was when we thought we were working with a lot less money wise than we actually ended up with. He probably stuck to the agreement, but I didn't. There was one thing I'd already ordered from think geek' and a couple things I couldn't resist when I was out and about at the mall. I found what must have been the only Chargers Robot in Texas and after that I remembered that the new Rush album had come out.

So I might be in hot water tomorrow. oh, well. He took us to see the Hobbit yesterday. I can always tell him I want him to take me to Les Miz later this week.

Eta: I can't really think of anything I want other than that.

I bought myself a small box of Laura Secord chocolates.

My Secret Santa gift from an online group I belong to arrived today!! How's that for awesome timing? (Considering it was mailed Dec. 4! ) Haven't opened any gifts but I know one from brother is a photo calendar and the other from brother is books ... and sis's gift reads "sweater" on the customs label. (Darn you, customs, you don't make it easy to surprise people!)

Will post after I open them.

P.S. I bought mom a wolf calendar ... brother has sent her a photo calendar ... it's kind of funny in a way: how many calendars do you need in a nursing home?? But I didn't want to go there tomorrow with nothing. I'm hoping to do a small amount of baking before school starts up again and will take her a few offerings; and once she gets her permanent wheelchair I'm thinking of getting her a small bag that hangs off to one side. She gets bored watching TV so I thought maybe she could put a magazine or two in there ...

Well, my family doesn't have huge traditions as to when gifts get opened. Nekojin and I tend to have most of our stuff opened (if it ever got wrapped at all ) by Christmas day, unless it hasn't arrived, yet.

He got me an awesome Pirate Nightcrawler bust figure that I adore. He also got me a Jack Skellington figure. I think he got me some books, too, but we buy each other books so often it's hard to remember when and what celebration they're for.

Most of what I've gotten him as been over the Internet, not arrived yet (one part not for a couple of months) but include a pin-up art book, something that's still secret, and a Mega Stomp Panic because it's just way too cool to not get.

We do the family thing at his mom's tomorrow, and my family shows up later this week for a mini-exchange.

                ^-.-^

We did not exchange presents, mainly because my husband is unemployed and he did not want to accept money from me to buy me a present, even though I consider it "our" money no matter who earns it. Finances have been a bit tight without his income but I bought ingredients for most of my "Christmas cooking spree" a couple months ago when hubby still had a job so I was able to make most of my candies that I give to eight different neighbors. It is a tradition that I do every year. I did not make cookies because I was too tired as I work two jobs now and today was my first full day off in almost a month. I will make cookies in a couple of weeks and give my neighbors more goodies. Christmas day I am making a ham dinner in which I will make extra for two bachelor neighbors who do not cook for the holidays. We did give our wicked kitty a "kitty stocking" filled with fun, catnip scented kitty goodies, and he had a blast.

Just TTO and I have exchanged pressies - but I'm hoping to Skype with my parents later, and time with my parents is always a great present!

I got TTO a Disturbed shirt, and 2 DVDs of Disturbed (his favourite band) and 6 kilos of coffee (6 different types). He's addicted to coffee

He got me a really soppy romantic card (mushy puddle!) and a voucher to an online kitchen tools site that I'm literally addicted to!!!!!!! (I love them!!!!!!!!!)

And our puppy got a new water bowl, some ostrich knuckles and 3 huge biscuits.

as I sit here, on Christmas morn, drinking my bourbon with a little eggnog

I realize that most of my "presents" are things that money can not buy.

My GF (who unfortuneately has a terminal brain disease)
My dog who turns 10 this year
                      my humble but nice surroundings
the people I work with (the long timers)
                      my daughter
                      my grandson
                      my almost step daughter
                      my life

Not that I do not appreciate the "stuff" I have, but the life that I have. It may not be the greatest in the world but for the most part I am happy and greateful for my life.

My christmas present was mostly a book and spending money for Japan.

I was happy with my Christmas this year. Last year I spent a lot of time getting hyped up and excited and "Omg best Christmas EVAR!" and then got smashed with crushing disappointment. This year, I didn't really bother getting hyped up and was able to relax and enjoy my Christmas. I also got a lot of the gifts I wanted this year, too, so heheh.

                              Two Weeks Ago

-Package from the UK from my lovely boyfriend which was mostly candy: gummies, licorice toffee, lollis and tons upon tons upon tons of HK stuff, including plushies and a Pez dispenser. My dog stole and ate the pez dispenser, but left the candy behind. Go figure.

                              Last Week from best friend

                              -$25 gift card to Amazon
-Alan Moore's 25,000 Years Of Erotic Freedom. Yes, Alan Moore of Watchmen fame. The book is an essay/history of pornography. Complete with pictures.

                              *

My aunt, uncle, cousins and their kids throw a party at my aunt's house every year, and we're always invited.

                              Last Night

-A tea gift set, including mug, types of tea, raspberry truffles, and biscotti.
-Nail polish set from Yankee Swap.
-$25 gift certificate to get my nails done in April, for one of the many weddings next year.
-A winning lottery ticket from the Pennsylvania Lottery! Cousin moved to PA, made up a scratch ticket tree and his sister won the drawing. Sister passed out the tickets to everyone and I won $4! Traded the ticket for the money with cousin, so $4. Heehee. Total amount of the tree was around $30, and total winning tickets was $20 or so. Not bad.

                              Today

-$170 from my parents. I'm surprised, and pleased, since money is tight with them.
-A hemp body gift set, with lip balm, moisturizer and body wash
-A shampoo and conditioner gift set.
                              -$15 gift card to itunes.
