  • Bad show management?

Okay so this time of year I do a craft show just about every weekend.

Supposedly I have a show tomorrow. I sent in my paperwork/photos/check weeks before the deadline. I've done this particular show for 3 years, it's a small church show, but it's close to my house and the people are really nice.

Usually they mail a postcard or call and leave a message, or email me to let me know that I'm in. I haven't gotten anything yet. I'm friends with the lady who runs it and I know that if I didn't get into the show that she'd contact me and let me know.

I've called the venue (It's held at a small church) and left a message, I called the lady who's running the show and left a message, and I've also emailed her. No word yet.

They have set-up tonight, so the only thing I can do now is drop by this evening and see if my name is on the list.

I don't want to just assume that I didn't get in and then not show up, because then I'm out my entry fee and they have a hole during the show.

I'm just feeling confused and a bit frustrated about the lack of communication.

Edit: If I didn't get in, it really wouldn't bother me. I can always use the day to get ahead on my christmas orders anyways.

They don't sound very nice to me if they won't return phone calls or emails but you think that they would still cash your check without even talking to you.

Oh well, either way, good luck tonight!

Okay now that I've been visiting, I have more of the story.

Apparently they mailed out letters to everyone on monday, except me. She meant to email me, but forgot.

So yeah I am in this show.

Eh I did okay. I made my booth rent, which is rather laughable. They're changing how they do this show, and it's not really for the better.

It's held at a small church (like around 50-75 members small) and usually they manage to pull several hundred people to come and shop. This year there was about 20 booths and only about a hundred people showed up.

I don't think I'll be doing that show again, honestly.
