  • And now the copycats begin (Nashville bombing)

So, this happened earlier this morning:

    https://www.cnn.com/2020/12/25/us/na...ion/index.html

And now, mere blocks from where I live, an idling RV is found in front of the Federal Building! (Still breaking as of 6:25 pm EST)

Holy shit is all I can say right now.

Sorry if this is Fratching, mods, but I feel this needs to be posted.

Whoever did the explosion, it should be noted they apparently wanted to avoid the loss of life since a recording in the RV announced the explosion 15 minutes beforehand. Apparently they wanted to do property damage, but not take lives. Most unusual.

They wanted to cause chaos, and fear, but I get the feeling they thought they could get out of a terrorism charge if they didn't kill anyone. They will be found. They wont like the outcome.

Update: The RV found in downtown Cincinnati was just some guy leaving the RV's generator idling. He was down the street...still a dumb move, IMHO, considering what happened earlier in the day.

My thoughts is either he probably didn't think much about it at the time or wasn't aware of Nashville. Considering that Cincy isn't *that* far away from Nashville( 4 hour drive or so) , and the bombing is all over the news, I'll go with my first theory.

I haven't seen the latest, but I've been wondering if'n it was part of something bigger, as they hit an AT&T facility, and AT&T handles more than phone calls. Internet, security cameras, dedicated security lines, possibly NSA equipment (they've been known to set up taps in switching stations), air traffic control, and so on. Combine that with the holidays, and you could potentially do something that might not be noticed until next year.
