  • Wherein I charge for a charge.

A group of 2 or 3 come in and ask for prices on a room. I quoted the rate. They left without getting a room. 10 or 15 minutes later they come in, walk straight to a wall outlet to charge a phone.

Me: Did you guys decide to get a room?
SC: Yeah, we're just checking Priceline
Me: OK, I'll give you 10 minutes. I can't have you staying in the lobby.
SC: You mean we have to pay to charge the phone?
Me: No, but I figure 10 minutes should be enough time to book the room online.

They leave immediately, deciding against getting a room.
To right the countless wrongs of our days... We shine this light of true redemption, that this place may become as paradise...Oh, what a wonderful world such would be...

Well, electricity isn't free. They are using electricity your hotel bought. If they don't book a room, you don't get it back. So they are in fact stealing electricity from you. (At least they didn't hit you up for a pot of coffee...)
