So today early I vomited blood .. again. I am not sure if I should be happy or mad about it.. but the hospital I went to only ran some blood tests.. gave me some meds and sent me home. No checking to see if my varacies were back and had burst. No checking to see if my ulcer had gotten way worse.. or anything.

Check with your regular doctor. If he says you should be mad about it, get him to help you file a complaint.

Urgent care and emergancy rooms as of late have pissed me off. I have a diagnosis, for a condition. If it flares up I can bleed to DEATH. So I am supposed to go to the emergancy room and be monitored. Last time I was there they would not listen, look at my paper work or look at the numerous pills that I am on that have a tendancy to interact with other meds. Instead they gave me an STD test and told me I should take a med that interacts with the blood clotting meds I am already taking. Luckily even in my dehydrated and delirious state I heard and refused to let them inject me. My GP and specialist both filed complaints against the emergancy room for almost killing me.

Call your GP today. In spite of the fact you're unhappy with the ER if you feel weak, start vomiting blood again, or feel worse in any way go straight back.

A normal blood count does not mean you are not losing blood. However, if a varices had burst, you'd probably still be feeling very sick and still be vomiting blood. There is no way to check your varices without doing an EGD and that's not typically something done in the ER. If one had burst you'd still be vomiting blood. The stomach does not like blood; that's why we vomit it.

It's impossible to tell what's going on at this point. They should have told you to follow up when they discharged you. You need to see your GI guy and get that follow up as soon as possible.

Return to the ER if you get worse.

Aislin. Yes, if my varacies burst, I can bleed to death. In fact almost did 2 years ago. So that is why any time I see blood, it is the ER for me.

Sapphire Silk and Seshat. Believe me, I don't care what the ER thinks.. if I see more blood I WILL go to the ER. Not a bit ashamed to or anything. I have learned that blood= bad. Since there is no way to tell the difference in a popped blood vessel or a bleeding ulcer or .. whatever... the guy does not take chances. And yes I will speak to my GP about it. I mean I am doing good and all, so obviously they were right, but it could have turned out much much different.

The hits just keep coming. Yesterday I fell down stairs twice..I was lucky that I was far enough down the stairs that I cought myself on the wall at the bottom..*sighs.. now when I try to stand .. my legs shake like I am on the ocean during a tsunami.
