(P.S. I'm amused to note that my spellchecker recognizes 'truthiness' as a word.)
Last night the Colbert Report had a thing about truthiness being added to the Oxford American Dictionary.
I don't go in for ancient wisdom
I don't believe just 'cause ideas are tenacious
It means that they're worthy - Tim Minchin, "White Wine in the Sun"

Oh thank god I was not alone! I was starting to feel pretty sad about my life... when all I could think of was a video game reference.
Nah. Computer games are as much a part of modern culture as movies and books.
        Seshat's self-help guide:
        1. Would you rather be right, or get the result you want?
        2. If you're consistently getting results you don't want, change what you do.
        3. Deal with the situation you have now, however it occurred.
        4. Accept the consequences of your decisions.

A sign that I've seen in our store is misleading, but true, too. "Rent (blah movies) for only 49 cents a day!!!!" Omg, really?

No, we don't rent on a day to day basis.

No, it's not going to cost you ONLY 49 cents.

Do the math. Today + 7 days, divide 3.99 into it.. *gasp* 49 cents. Roughly.

I've had to point this out so many times, and have blatantly TOLD customers "it's an advertisement, it's supposed to get your attention this way. I'm sorry. "

          Hah...
