Got up this morning to a phone message, from a call at 8:30 a.m. (no wonder I never even heard the phone ring). Audio quality was VERY bad, but I did get something about a $400 charge to my credit card on eBay, and they weren't sure if it was legit because "you have never before" mumble mumble garble.
After a few minutes' online digging, yp.ca came up with the info that the number attached to that call was from a cellphone in Toronto. Oh yeah, DEFINITELY legit.
The really funny part is this: my current and only credit card won't LET me charge $400 worth of anything, anywhere ... it doesn't go that high. It's one of those "secured" credit cards (my credit history hasn't been exactly sterling ...) and I had asked for a ceiling considerably below that.
Nice try, losers.
