An open letter to the schmuck who tailgated me

Dear Schmuck,

Tailgating people on the freeway is a stupid thing to do. Doubly so if you're riding a motorcycle and tailgating a car. Now my little car doesn't look like much, but I will guaran-damn-tee that if you rear-end me with your flimsy little bike, you will be far worse off than me.

Seriously, look around you. You and I are not the only people on the road. The freeway is crowded. Traffic is slow. You're not going to zoom by everyone else, and I can't move over because there's too much traffic in the other lane. So back the hell off and exercise some patience before you end up with a helluva road rash, or worse.

Note: anyone who's been involved in trucking (or even anyone with commonsense who has SEEN a truck) will understand that rearward visibility on a "big rig" with a 53 foot van-type trailer is somewhere between nonexistent and "you've gotta be kidding".

Damn - I wonder how long that motorcycle has been stuck in my rear guard?
