    So at my new workplace, the employee parking is basically a giant unmarked gravel lot. It is up to our own wits and intelligence to form orderly rows.

    Today, I came in and saw the following. (Grey area on top is road; red zone is coned off.) I had no idea what the grey car was doing, so I (red car) parked well behind him to start a new row, and a motorcycle joined me.



    When I came back to my car four hours later, it appeared that some people had followed the grey car's lead:



    See the problem?
    Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad.

    What's with the big gap between the rows? There's lots of space if people had driven in from the left!

    Really, though, good example of herd mentality... doesn't matter how dumb someone is there will be others who will go along with them.
    There's no such thing as a stupid question... just stupid people.
