I was leaving Good Will today, and on my way out a grandmother and her grand daughter (looked around 8 or 9) were coming in. As I was exiting, the grandmother stopped the kid, who was about to come through the door I was coming out of, and made the kid wait.
"We have to wait until the people leaving have come out of the door," she explained in a kind tone to the little girl.
I think I've seen a unicorn: an adult actually teaching good manners, nicely, to a child!
