Reminds me of an article I read in the WASHINGTON POST a few years back. Car owner sold the car to a friend but didn't bother to remove the tags first. Friend sold it to somebody else with the tags still on it. Car racks up parking tickets by the score. Finally the state comes after him as he's still the registered owner of said tags.

Never did hear if he managed to get out of paying the tickets, nor if the police were ever alerted to stop this car if they saw it as it was pretty obviously unregistered...
