Went to Disney on Ice! I LOVE it, it was fabulous.

We left a little later than I would have liked and arrived to the venue @ 6:30pm. The show was due to start at 7 so in theory it would have been plenty of time to get parked and in our seats.

    Not so.

We didn't actually pull into our parking space until 6:55, the lines to get in were just inexplicably horrendous. My daughter is starting to panic and worried that we'll miss everything. We run inside, we pee (it was a longish) ride and buy Snow cones ($14 for one). Its about 7:05 and the show has literally just started. We find our section and begin to make our way down to our row. We get to our row and behold....all the seats are full.

My mother, who was in front of me, looks at our tickets, at the row and then at the people. She goes into the row a bit and she asks them if they're in the right seats. They look around like they didn't understand the question. Meanwhile, there's a massive line behind us for people also waiting to walk down to their seats.

They start talking to each other in spanish, ignoring my mother but also not moving. I asked my mother later what they had sad and she said they were asking each other if they should move or not. I couldn't hear since the music had started.

My mother, who speaks spanish, tells them again, not nicely and in spanish. 'Hey, these are OUR seats. Row S. Do your tickets say Row S?"

They again converse in spanish, still not moving. This time my mother flips her shit, in spanish. "Show me your tickets or MOVE. Now."

Surprise registers on their faces. A girl pulls out her ticket and in perfect english says "Oh, we're in row T...not row S." They stand up and start to move.

Meanwhile, the backlog is ridiculous. People are pissed and looking to see whats causing the wait. The people back out of the row and we finally enter and sit.

I was pissed for like 10 minutes but the magic of Disney quickly drew me out of it.

I hope the venue gave people a little extra time to get to their seats. I had the same thing happen to me at a baseball game once. The family who stole our seats were almost ejected from the park over it.

There's probably nothing that says that one patron can't escort a patron to their correct seat... :-D
