  • You take care of HOW MANY?!

So there is a national register of childcare places that specifies the number of kids they can care for, when they're open and if they are meeting certain federal and state requirements.

Lately I've been checking the register to determine which places in NSW are near train lines (and there's about 20 services out of around 50-60 I can work in). Most places had been 30-120 children.

One place however, in the CBD, was listed as having 700 children.

    *record scratch* wait, what?!

Yeah....I wound up emailing the national register asking if this was the case and also asking them how they actually determined the number in the first place. They politely responded acknowledging that yes it was a typo (oops) and that they calculated it based on the space we could provide.

Still, a school that caters for 700 primary-school aged children had better provide a whole cathedral!!!
