Stupid cold and trouble swallowing

2 years ago I had the cold from HELL. It took me almost 3 months to be fully recovered from it. I went through several bottles of Nyquil and Robitussin over the course of it. I got it right at the end of the semester, so I couldn't get the rest I really needed, so that's part of the reason it dragged on so long. Only way I was able to get through finals was with a course of steroids from the doctor and even then I felt like living death.

I'm guessing it was a viral one, albeit one that pretty much kept me at home for at least a month.

I'm getting better, I hope.

People think, "oh it's just a cold, no big deal."

Wrong. Very big deal. They can linger for weeks and make us feel like shit. Worse, we make ourselves worse by trying to keep working through them AND passing the durned things around to everyone around us.

Sadly, most people get 3 colds a year, on average.
