Rozzers - From 'Robert', after Sir Robert Peel (1788–1850), commonly considered the father of modern policing, and who established the Metropolitan Police Force in London (1829). More commonly used in comedy TV and Film.

    Aka the Cops
Aka the Pigs, the Law, the Old Bill, the Boys In Blue, the Bobbies, and Her Majesty's Finest. They have a lot of nicknames, some more imaginative than others.

ObTrivia: Railway signalmen are also often called "bobbies", because the original signalmen were policemen, whose original job was simply to prevent a train from passing their assigned spot until the allotted time interval had passed since the previous train - this from before the advent of telegraphy.

James May's car from the "Make a police car for a lot less than the police spend on their cars" challenge references the Rozzers:

You just got me all nostalgic for London - nobody round here calls them the Rozzers....
The Rozzers was an "our office" thing I think. I blame the DVD of Hot Fuzz that did the rounds.

        2) Smart Keys are beyond awesome. To the point that, if a car with one is stolen, instant red flag
Too right! Especially the German ones, where federated parts systems and virtually impossible to obtain blanks means we can always find the extra key they forgot to mention

Guess where the car was caught on speed cameras 10 times over the last 12 months......
There's no prize for this is there?
Similar question in our office, "Why do you have a Dart-Tag for the Dartford Crossings, 200 miles from your house but 5 miles from the Named Driver's house?"

        Remembered another favourite armour-piercing question:

"Why, exactly, is there a London Private Hire Vehicle sticker in the back window of your car? Are you defrauding us by using it as a minicab when you're not insured to, or are you defrauding TfL (Transport for London) by claiming it's a minicab (exempt from daily congestion charge) when it isn't?"

As soon as an engineer sees the car, they take a set of pictures, now and again an extra pic turned up with a gem like a minicab licence, blatant pre-accident damage, or something like that.

        Brilliant write-up bunrotha, very entertaining.

And probably more than a little inspiration for our beloved Sam Vimes.
        Why thank you.

Vimes is part Peel, part Dredd, and possibly a dash of George Dixon, methinks.
