Unclear on the concept

Had a customer asking why her freebie ads weren't in the paper. I looked at her account to confirm we didn't have the ones she was referring to.

"We have item X and item Y."

"What about Z and Z-1?"

Nope, don't have those. I asked when she mailed it out.

"Well, I got it back in the mail. So, why aren't they in the paper?"



"Ma'am, if the envelope was returned to you, WE NEVER GOT IT."

Took another couple go-rounds before she understood.

People are really unclear how mail works. 5 years after I moved in, we are still getting mail for the previous owners. And I'm not talking junk mail, I'm talking official looking mail. That if you hold up to the light, look like checks with several more 0's than any checks I ever get. They are all from some cow/ranching/farmer's association.

Yeah, I occasionally still get mail for a previous resident. I've lived in this house for over nine years now.
