  • Probably wasnt supposed to see that.

Received a gentlemen into work yesterday. Got him fixed up and he was feeling better. He was going to be observed for a bit so he asked for the WiFi information to get onto the internet on his phone. I tried walking him through the process but he was not able to understand my directions. He was a bit older and the phone was new, so he wasn't sure what I was asking.

I take his phone with his permission and get the Wifi working. As soon as I accepted the WiFi terms of service, the browser redirected to the last webpage he had been searching.... A porn site.

I turned the phone towards him immediately, I don't think he saw that I saw.

    I exited quickly.

I'm not that addicted to something that I have to look at it on my phone when I'm out and about.

Some things, like Wiki or CS, sure I'll look those up on my phone if I'm not going to have time to get on my computer when I do finally make it home. Or latest news.

Porn, OTOH, is strictly reserved for the privacy of my boudoir and laptop (and headphones ON so I don't have anyone disturbed by those fakey moans and whatnot.)

Yet one more reason why I don't like to handle another person's mobile phone. . .

That's hilarious! I've had similar experiences where a customer calls in to question a credit card charge...sometimes it's a spouse or child using the card. Very awkward! At least I don't see the actual porn, though!
Thank you for calling Card Services, how may I take your abuse today? ~Headset Hellion

That's funny. I remember last winter I was at a drug store loading up on carbs for the long, snowed-in weekend and there was a guy trying to find an address up the road. I pulled up Googlemaps on his phone and showed him the address, which was about a mile up the road.

When he took his phone back, he was closing the web pages or programs he had running and I happened to notice one of them was the "escorts" section of Backpage. The address he was looking for was the hotel where a prostitute was staying.
