  • R.I.P. Don Stookey

Another "behind the scenes" person rather than a celebrity. Do you have any Corningware (the original "oven to table to fridge" glass-ceramic cookware) in your kitchen? Don Stookey, the inventor of this product, died at age 99.
Any fool can piss on the floor. It takes a talented SC to shit on the ceiling.

That's pretty amazing. I love how so many discoveries -- from Corningware to chocolate-chip cookies -- came about by accident. His discovery made life easier for a lot of cooks.
In the late 1960s, the elder Stookey felt burned-out and out of ideas, the son said. He offered to leave the company. The family that started Corning told him to take a year off with pay. He travelled the world and returned to spend another 20 years with the company.
That is a company worth being loyal to.
I don't have an attitude problem. You have a perception problem.
